At Lady Evelyn Plus Summer School, students at the secondary level will work in groups towards a “Grand Project”.

So what exactly is The Grand Project?

Well, it’s our master plan which allows us to intertwine and link all the subjects and skills students will learn, together.

In their respective groups, students will be part of a real-world style project where they will implement and apply the theoretical skills they gained from their classes.

Like in the modern world, students will interact with other students from around the globe. They will need to think, find solutions to problems, design, challenge, persuade, market, pitch, sell and much more.

We are not overstating it when we say that this entire end-to-end experience can be truly life-changing. These are skills sought after by top universities and companies around the world: teamwork, leadership, compromise, debate and discussion, persuasion, critical thinking, and so on…

This year’s Grand Project revolves around designing an Islamic video game that educates. Students will learn how to design an Islamic video game, design the branding and create a website for the game, pitch and market the game, write a business plan for it along with a budget. They will work in teams and compete with each other to actually come up with the best overall business plan, pitch, designs, video, etc. while learning about key concepts such as project management and marketing.

This method was meticulously planned so students can hone their skills while having fun!
